Bio

Born the youngest daughter in a family of seven, Mary was confused when she graduated from Wroxeter-on-Severn School in Arnold, Maryland, in 1977. Was it to be Music, Math, French, or Journalism going forward? Knowing math was the only one that could not be just a hobby, she sprang to study Electrical Engineering at the University of Virginia, never really understanding this would make her dream come true of financial independence from her parents. She rarely had her horn too far away. She played every chance she got…and then some.

Mary loves her cats. She never knew she would fall in love with the best cat dad on the planet…and have seven (ahem!!) of her own. Pictured here is Waffle the Kitten. Waffle is also known as the reconciliation kitten. If Waffle had not come into Mary and Chuck’s lives when she did, the first movement of “Gekoplat, Friedlich, Gesegnet” would have turned out quite differently. See media page. Gekoplat, Friedlich, Gesegnet is a four movement piece: Love, Play, Discussion, and More Love. Movement I, Love, was completed in May 2021 with the help and inspiration of her Music Technology Professor, Mr. Chris Connolly.
